Joké Durojaiye
As a business mentor and a busy mom of three, family is always my priority. That’s why I built systems that support my life. Now, I teach others how to create businesses that grow with ease and efficiency, so they have the freedom to follow their dreams without sacrificing the most important things in life.
I am a serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in real estate and business management, founder of Genesis Home Staging, Business of Home Staging, and host of the Creative Business Mindset podcast. As a recognized industry leader, I help home stagers, and aspiring entrepreneurs, bridge the gap between creativity and business intelligence, turning their passion into profitable, scalable businesses through smart systems, eliminating the guesswork, wasted time, and money.
I recall launching my home staging business, after getting a certification in home staging, it felt like I was handed a box of jigsaw puzzles and I was excited to build something new, except there were several missing pieces I had to figure out the hard way. Working with mentees and students in the industry, I realized that many new homestagers face the same challenge—they complete their training only to discover that making money from their passion goes beyond knowing how to stage. That’s exactly why I do what I do to help you shift from the passion mindset to the business mindset so you can separate the math from the drama and start making money.
Making six figures in my first year of business, and growing more than 100% Year-Over-Year, came with blood, sweat, and tears. I have since learned how to build smarter systems that create sustainable success—allowing me to work less in the business and more on it to maximize profit.
Before launching Genesis in 2018, I was a licensed real estate broker for more than a decade. I spent part of my time in real estate as a Senior Agent at Redfin, teaching the proprietary "home-buying classes", and gaining insights into how people make decisions—not just about homes, but about business growth, leadership, and entrepreneurship. My journey through multiple ventures has given me a deep understanding of what it takes to build and sustain businesses across industries.
Growing up in Nigeria, I learned early on from my mom that nothing we have is meant for us to keep to ourselves but to be shared. This has shaped everything I do and my mission is to help home stagers and creative entrepreneurs fill in the gaps, learn from my experiences, and build businesses that thrive—without having to reinvent the wheel.
